How long, oh LORD, will the world be in chaos over this disease.
How long will there be preventable deaths.
How long with the health care system be over run.
How long will it be until families can be reunited,
Until single friends can have connection again,
Until your people can gather together in the same physical space again.
How long, oh LORD, will people be concerned about gathering enough flour,
bread,
eggs,
toilet paper.
How long, oh LORD, will so many people be without work,
without necessities,
without security,
without freedom.
Father God, heal our world.
Stop the spread of this disease.
Bring us comfort in our loneliness
in our sickness
in our anxiety
in our unknowns.
Remind us that all over the world there are so many who never have food security,
job security,
health security,
security.
Do not let us forget them when this has passed, and make us more compassionate people.
Help us to stop judging one another, and teach us to have empathy for each other.
Save us from falling back into routines that are killing us.
Save us from falling back into habits that keep us from You.
Help us remember that you are always in control.
Help us to live in balance of doing what we should to care for ourselves while relying on you,
of saving for ourselves and giving to others,
of working and enjoying,
of speaking truth and being kind.
Help me to keep my eyes on you in the midst of the storm.
You are in control of the universe.
You are in control of our world.
You are in control of my life,
my family’s lives,
my friends’ lives,
my neighbors’ lives.
You know the number of our days,
the number of hairs on our head,
our fears,
our hopes.
Thank you for choosing to interact in our world.
Thank you that you care for us.
Thank you for your presence,
your goodness,
your love,
your faithfulness.
Thank you that none of this has surprised you.
Thank you that you know what is to come.
Thank you that you know when this will end.
